Lab Analyst
Job Purpose
The incumbent is responsible for conducting laboratory testing of raw materials, intermediate product, finished product for Release, Stability and Post Importation Testing (PIT) as well as conducting any special request (non-routine) to meet the production requirement or business needs.
Key Accountabilities
Quality Control Systems

Accurately recording of analysis information in logbooks

Accurately reporting test results obtained in TDS or Protocols or Computer systems software.

Prompt reporting of abnormal observations of OOS, OOT, analytical incidents, instrument malfunctioning etc. or obvious error occurred during preparation to Supervisor.

Assists in the investigation of Laboratory Non-conformances (Out of specification/Out of trend/deviation)

Assists in preparation of Laboratory procedures

Filing of all retention samples/completed documents in an orderly and logical manner to enable prompt retrieval when necessary.

Assists in internal audits.

Execution of validation protocols.
Analytical Testing
-
Testing raw materials, intermediates and finished products, including products from contract testing are tested according to prescribed monographs within a given time frame, using wet/dry chemical analysis and Instrumental techniques.

Perform testing of process validation samples as per requests.

Perform testing of cleaning validation samples as per protocols

Prepare and standardize volumetric solutions.

Prepare reagents for chemical analysis.

Ensure that laboratory equipment is calibrated at regular intervals as prescribed by cGMP and in accordance with SOP.

Informs Supervisor/ relevant person when the reagents, solvents, reference standards etc requires replacement or is expired or is reaching expiry date.
Good Laboratory Practice and Safety

Ensure reagents, solvents, volumetric solutions, test solutions etc are correctly labeled with correct expiry date, validity period etc.

Read the relevant specification and organize the work in such a manner that testing can be completed in stipulated time.

To ensure compliance with current Good Laboratory Practices as laid down in the Quality Control procedures.

Maintenance or upkeep of Laboratory working area i.e. good housekeeping.

Following the laboratory laid down safety precautions while working in the laboratory.

Accurate labeling and identification of reagents and chemicals

Maintenance of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety measures in the laboratory.

Disposal of waste and tested samples as per procedure.
Skills & Knowledge
Educational qualifications:
National Diploma / BTech Degree and or B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry/Biotechnology
Relevant experience:
2 to 3 years in a laboratory environment.
